I had a wonderful weekend away at Camp Perkins! It was so refreshing to spend the weekend in God's beautiful creation. You can't be up there and not just feel His presence. We got up there Friday afternoon after stopping in Fairfield for burgers at The Wrangler. I just wish I would have seen they had a veggie burger on the menu before I ordered. Oh well, it was still tasty! I did some digital scrapbooking, got a massage, went snowshoeing, night luging, watched some movies, did a foot spa and hand wax (creepy, but awesome) and relaxed. Here are a few pictures from my cell phone (gotta love the retro cam app) of the weekend. Today's been rough, it's hard to go back to real-life after a little vacay. Heather posted her photos from this weekend HERE, be sure to check them out too!

No Pin Curl Mojo
Ok I admit it I don't set my hair routinely. I am a busy working mom and the last thing on my mind before I go to bed is setting my hair so most days I just pin my sides back but on weekends I usually will set my hair. Well lately in these dark cold days of winter I haven't even been doing that. So on these bleak no set days when I have a bit more time in the morning I sometimes use my hot sticks. If you aren't familiar with hot sticks I find them to be a god send as they are as close to a pin curl set as you are going to find with a dry set. I think I bought mine at Walmart for about $15.
For other another good idea of what to do on a no mojo pin curl day here is link to the lovely Ms Lina at Spiffing Sporadics of a Vintage Girl.
Also the lovely Fleur of Diary of a Vintage Girl has done a tutorial on using the hot sticks which is how I found out about them Fleurs hot sticks tutorials. She has some other tutorials on her blog too so please check it out.
So here is how I use them. I spray them with a thermal spray then roll them in my hair using end wraps as I found that with out the end wraps my ends were too sloppy. First I let them heat up for 15 to 20 minutes. I roll them all under using mostly pink smaller rods in front although I will alternate some larger orange in for variety.
Leave them on for about 20 minutes more perhaps put on my make up or pick up the house. Then unroll and brush out and spray.

THE NICE PICTURE TIGER LILY TATTOO
Lets Make it Legal 1951
Lets Make it Legal, Wow what an all star cast this Movie Has starting with Cladette Colbert, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Wagner, Barbara Bates (as Colbert daughter), Macdonald Carey. The Plot, Colbert and her husband Hugh (played by Macdonald Carey) are divorcing because of his terrible gambling habbit. Her grown daughter and son in law (Robert Wagner) have moved in to help out but it seems the daughter is using her Mother for her help so she can sleep in not do house work. Overall not an impressive film but has some great stars and fashion. I think it funny that they put Marilyn on the front as she only really had a minor role in the movie. In fact they seem to put Marilyn in every promo picture I can find for this movie. Don't get me wrong I love Marilyn but.... I guess we can see how the Stars Names and Faes were used early on to sell mediocre films.
Coming up on my blog I plan to finish my February make this weekend. I will try to get pictures also I received my Heyday dress so I must give it a trial run with pictures.
Also Coming up I think I will try to do a give away when I reach 50 readers to say thank you to all of you following my blog. I am going to ponder this weekend what I will be giving away don't worry I will try to make it a good one. Have a great week end all.
