Mod Cloths has Miss L Fire!!!

Ok I just discovered the other day that Mod Cloths sells Miss L Fire shoes.  Ok so there still out of my price range but nice to know there is a US supplier to at least cut down the shipping cost.  If you you have not yet checked out Miss L Fire you really really should. Above are a few I saw at Mod Cloth that I would by if I were richer than I am now.  Happy Thursday everyone.

Half dress up but didn't go out!!!!

Ok so I having been having a dilemma.   I have closets full of dresses and skirts and other fabulous vintage clothes and I have gained too much weight to were many of them. This as you can imagine has a big affect on going out as I feel I have nothing to wear. Take tonight for instance, I was going to go to the history center and hear a talk about home grown Pin Up artist Gil Elvgren as well as some of Munsing Wears more risqué campaigns but it took me so long to find something that still fit me that I threw in the towel and didn't go.  I have been debating my weight loss options.  I seem to have a hard time keeping the weight off since moving in with my husband.  I used to never sit around and watch thats about all he does when he gets home from work.  Also I used to limit the food I keep in the house but with two growing boys I find it is very useful to be able to feed them regularly.  I managed to loose a lot of weight right before our wedding 5 years ago by joining a group called slim for life and while I did not stay slim for life I did manage to take off 25 pound and I kept much of it off until I was pregnant with our youngest.  I did join weight watchers and join  a community center and managed to loose about 12 pounds but I quit because my husband started his own business and money got tight so I had to cut some things out.  so over the winter I have put back on everything I lost when I was on weight watcher.  I used to run and go out dancing 3 nights a week.  I haven't been running since being pregnant and I was thinking of starting a training program for a 5k.  I also considered joining a Golds Gym in our neighborhood as well as rejoining Weight Watchers again.  Ladies please feel free to give me your feedback what has worked well for you in terms of not just losing the weight but keeping it off?

So anyway this is me tonight hair and make up ready to go I even put on my new hair flower that I won in in the in a give away by Nifty Thrifty Retro Mama if you have not checked out her blog I highly recommend it.  Thanks again for the flower Nifty Thrifty Retro Mama!!! Sorry about the poor quality photo I have plans to take a better one with good lighting later.  Anyway shoot me some ideas on weight loss please.  I really need to get moving and eating less.

Pure Drivel

You may have seen Heather's blog post last week about her books lists or this post she did of an excerpt. She's been reading Steve Martin books lately and sharing some funny things with me. I'm so very excited because my family got tickets to see Steve Martin perform in July!

Here's an excerpt from his book Pure Drivel that Heather shared with me. He's so funny!

Schrödinger’s Cat
A cat is placed in a box, together with a radioactive atom. If the atom decays, a hammer kills the cat; if the atom doesn't decay, the cat lives. As the atom is considered to be in either state before the observer opens the both, the cat must thus be considered to be simultaneously dead and alive. - Erwin Schrödinger's Cat Paradox, 1935

Wittgenstein's Banana
A banana is flying first class from New York to L.A. Two scientists, one in each city, are talking on the phone about the banana. Because it is moving in relationship to its noun, the referent of the word banana never occupies one space, and anything that does not occupy one space does not exist. Therefore, a banana will arrive at JFK with no limousine into the city, even though the reservation was confirmed in L.A.

"ARTISTS TATTOO" JUSTIN BEIBER TATTOO

Justin beiber tattoo. Teen singing sensation justin beiber gets a tattoo.

Justin beiber photos emerged showing him getting, and then sporting, a small tattoo on his torso or lower stomach or hip, whatever you call that part of body.

plans

You may have seen my tweets from the other day. Sometime in the near future Heather and I will be flying out to Georgia to help Jenny move back to Washington. We don't know yet if it will be in June (praying!) or September, but in the last week we've talked a little bit more about our plans for the roadtrip back. I got really excited and did some searching on Google Maps.

That route isn't set in stone, well the last half isn't. We're trying to decide if we should go through Kansas and Colorado or Nebraska and Wyoming. Any thoughts on which would be better? I've done the whole NE and WY thing a couple times already. We definitely want to stop in Nashville, TN (PINKBERRY!) and Springfield, MO (Red Velvet!). There's also an In-N-Out near Salt Lake City, UT that we (I) would like to stop at if we have the chance. Are you getting an idea of how we're planning this? Definitely not looking for the fastest route, haha! We'd probably make Boise (home) our last stop before heading up to the Seattle area. It's been so fun to at least talk about these plans with the girls, even if they aren't set in stone yet. Things have been difficult for me lately and I've needed something fun like this to look forward to.

I don't think we want this to take forever, but let me know if there's some cool places you think we should stop enroute to Washington. Or if you live in one of the stops and want to let three girls crash for the night. ;)

Coming Soon to the Mall of America: Betty Page Clothing

Its true Betty Page Clothing is opening a store only a short 20 minute drive from my house.  So I decided to  do some fantasy shopping on line today.  Since I have never had the opportunity to visit a Betty Page Store I am curious to see what is in the store versus what is on line.

So thinking in a practical sense these are some piece I could see getting lots of use in the next few months.

These High Waisted Capri would be great for up coming spring and on cooler summer days.

I could also see wearing these high waisted shorts in the summer months and I could also make use of the Lucy blouse with Bows as well.

OK how cute is the sailor inspired dress being modeled by the lovely Doris Mayday.  I also really love the teal of the Rita Dress and the Military dress well perhaps not till fall and winter but how cute is that.  Finally the day dress directly above is definitely adorable.  I have not found out yet when the store is opening but I am excited to see what is in stock when they open and I can find the time to visit the store.

Gorilla Tattoos

Full gorilla body art on all fours.

Interesting design with sharp teeth.

Excellent face tattoo idea.

Great 3D quality artwork.

Side view of beautiful creature.

The gorilla is an amazingly beautiful creature which is sometimes labeled as the gentle giant, however these big furry goblins are known to have a mean streak as well.

Gorilla tattoos are said to represent both strength and intelligence, while showcasing the animal inside all of us. And as can see from the tattoo pictures below, popular locations for these designs include the arm, the upper shoulder and forearm area.

Fashion Friday: Amanda in Wonderland

Amanda Seyfried appears alongside farm animals for the April cover shoot from Elle US.

On her outspoken personality: “I talk like I know what I’m saying, but I don’t.”

On being honest with herself: “I like the freedom of being exactly who I am. And that’s gotten me into trouble.”

On her best on-screen kisses: “I can’t lie. It didn’t suck making out with Channing [Tatum] and Justin [Timberlake].“

On her love of the romantic comedies: “I don’t think I’m being very ‘artistic’ when I do them, but I’m not doing it for that reason. Romantic comedies make me happy. I watch Love Actually every Christmas.”

Wardrobe Wednesday: Bon Jour Spring

It's officially Spring! I just wish the weather would get the memo. I can't wait for shorts and sandals! I'm on Spring Break and it just feels wrong to still be wearing sweaters and boots. I know I said last week I'd hopefully have an outfit picture for my Wardrobe Wednesday today, but life just seems so busy even with my Spring Break this week. I hope you enjoy this fun Spring outfit I created on Polyvore! The t-shirt reminds me of one time when Heather, Jenny and I were at Disneyland and the girls got mustaches painted on their faces. It was hilarious!

seattle dreams

I don't know what's gotten into me, but in the last week I've started to dream (literally and figuratively) about moving back to Seattle. I've peeked at apartments on Craigslist and thought of where I'd like to live in Seattle if/when I move back. Ideally, I'd transfer with Bella Baby to their hospitals up there so I'd like to be close to work and/or public transportation, and of course, close to friends. I know I still have a long way to go, especially financially, before I can move, but it's still fun to dream and look ahead to the future.

I think it'd be amazing to find a place big enough for at least three (Heather, Jenny and myself), plus the cats, and potentially have a little den for a little work studio area for all of us. I'm obviously still in the dream-stage. Here are a couple pictures I found as apartment inspiration. Right now I have absolutely NO furniture. I think it's going to be lots of fun to furnish a place with the girls.

Do you have any moving suggestions? Last time Heather and I used ABF U-Pack and got a pod. It was nice to not have to worry about dealing with a big moving truck.

Any suggestions on apartment hunting? I'm pretty sure each time I've moved I've used Craigslist for searching. What do you think are the best places to live in Seattle? Queen Anne? Downtown? Capital Hill? West Seattle? Ballard? Apartment? House?

Best places for furniture: couches, dining sets, bedroom sets, etc.?

Moving is a big decision and I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions.
