update and photo series
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have been going non-stop since I got back from Seattle. My family had a garage sale, then Heather and I babysat last Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday we started working at the fire center. Praise God for having a job! I'm just so exhausted because we're working 10 hour days. This weekend has been a time to relax and do nothing except watch Netflix on Wii and edit some pictures from Seattle. While I was in Seattle I started experimenting with soft focus and light and ended up with this pretty awesome series. I'm not sure if I'm finished with it yet. I might have more to add and some things to change. Since I haven't updated the blog in a while I figured I'd post what I have done so far. I'm thinking about maybe selling prints of some of these. So please, let me know what you think. Hope you all have a fabulous week.

six months
You might have seen Heather's post today that it has been six months since we've moved home. If you read Jenny's post in February I finally figured out how to explain how I felt about leaving California. It was like breaking up with a boyfriend (not that I would know, but I can imagine that it's a similar feeling). Some people assumed that we left because we didn't like California and that is DEFINITELY NOT the case. We LOVED it!! We were adventurous and did and saw so many things I never thought I ever would. It was gorgeous and there was always fun and amazing things to see and do. I miss it terribly. Life has changed a lot in the last six months. I still don't really know what I'm doing or what's next for me. But as Heather said, "I am in God's will and there is no other place I would rather be."

In a week it will be exactly a year since I was let go from my job. I remember sitting in my car bawling my eyes out, knowing I had to go back inside and turn in my parking pass, etc., trying to breathe and praying, "God, you are in control. I don't know why this is happening, but You do. I'm trusting you." In the last year I've completed my first year in an online Master's program at Academy of Art University and I moved home. I'm starting my photography business and it looks like Heather and I will be working at the National Interagency Fire Center Return Warehouse this summer. It's definitely not what I thought I would be doing, but I know I'm where I'm supposed to be.

May Day
Sorry for the lack of updates. Life has been crazy! Jenny is visiting for the weekend and we've been having a lot of fun! I have 3 weeks of school left, so I'm trying to finish strong. Starting Monday, Heather and I are working at the National Interagency Fire Center for two weeks at the Return Warehouse. It's a summer job we had after freshman and sophomore years in college. They needed some temp people for special projects. Needless to say, posts will be very few and far between until the end of May. Hopefully I'll have/make time to at least blog some pictures from my week in Seattle, pictures for one of my final projects and pictures from Jenny's weekend here. In the meantime I'll leave you with two photobooth pictures from this morning. The three of us had wayyyy too much fun with it. Happy May Day!
