laughter

I thought I'd share one of my digital pages that I worked on over the weekend [even if it's not journaled yet].  I still can't believe how easy digital scrapbooking is.  I made significant progress in completing my 2008 album.

I use Creative Memories software to create my albums.  Once I'm done creating an album or another kind of digital project, I just upload it and order it.  Heather and I finished the last half of our 2007 album at the end of last year.  It's pretty awesome because we're each working on different years.  When we're finished we can duplicate the albums, add or take away certain things, and then we can each order our own copies.

I feel like I can see a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to getting current on my albums.  I think it might actually be possible to get caught up by my birthday!  I'm looking forward to participating in my mom's monthly crops and National Scrapbook Day, which is coming up in April!  For me, it's not about scrapbooking, but getting my pictures in albums so that I'm able to enjoy them.

Camp Perkins

A weekend away in the mountains was just what I needed!  Although, it's always hard to leave.  There's nothing like resting in the stillness of God's creation and being restored.  Next year I definitely want to stay an extra day.  We drove up on Friday and took the 3pm shuttle van in to the camp.  We settled into our rooms and I got to work on my scrapbooking.

On Saturday we had wonderful morning devotions, worked on our scrapbooks and went snowshoeing.  We went tubing later that night underneath the stars; it was amazing.  Sunday morning we had more devotions and slowly packed up our stuff.  We took one last walk out to the lake before lunch.  Then we caught the 2pm shuttle back to our cars and headed home.

It's hard to put into words what a great weekend it was.  Here are a few pictures to help tell the story.

Gone for the weekend

Well I'm off to Camp Perkins for another Winter Getaway!  I will be digital scrapbooking, snowshoeing, luging and relaxing.  This will be my third year attending the Women's Crafting Retreat.  I hope it's something I'll be able to continue to do in the future.  There is nothing like getting away and experiencing the majesty of God's creation up in the snow-covered mountains.  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  I'll be home from the mountains on Sunday and I should be back to blogging on Monday.

Everyday Display

My mom has been a Creative Memories consultant for 16 years. So when Heather, Jenny and I needed baby shower and wedding presents for our friends Dani and Laura at the end of May, we decided to give them Creative Memories' Everyday Display Boards. Heather and I spent about an hour one afternoon making them before our trip. They were super fast and fun to put together! It was such a meaningful gift to give on two special occasions.

My parents gave Heather and I each display board when we graduated college in 2007. I absolutely love mine! I wish I had taken a picture to post on here too (duh!). I love changing it up every couple months with new pictures. With Creative Memories Digital Scrapbooking, you can order a 12 x 12 page print and just slip it in.
